Dechas
Minnesfond Bakgrund: Det kom ett brev till ADA om den svårt skadade hunden Decha ADA beslutade om att gå ut med ett upprop om ekonomiskt stöd för Decha. Tyvärr dog Decha på operationsbordet. Vi beslutade då att de pengar som skänkts skulle utgöra grundplåten för Dechas Minnesfond. Pengarna från fonden ska användas för att hjälpa skadade och/eller sjuka hundar till ett bättre liv. Här är ett exempel på vad pengarna ur Dechas Minnesfond går till. Vi
publicerar brevet vi fick. Det är skrivet av veterinär Paul Hindson,
som anlitas av ACE.
When a dog arrived at the Clinic I saw a small-frightened puppy with a
horribly swollen foot, it was at least double the size of a normal
foot. He had a bandage that had been tied too tightly and was cutting
off the circulation and this caused the foot to swell up. Also, there
was a stench of rotting meat so I knew that there was a bad infection
under the bandage.
The first thing to do was to remove the bandage.
Underneath I found two ulcers one was so deep that you could see the
bones of the poor dogs paw. Now it may sound strange but when you have wounds
caused by a bandage you have to treat the condition with bandage. I
carefully cleaned the wounds with an antiseptic solution to treat the
infection and then I used a hidrogell and a hydrocolloid dressing on
the wound. This allows the wound to clean itself and creates a
favourable environment for healing ant new tissue growth. And then
rebandaged the leg and arranged for the dog to return every 2 days for
a bandage change.
After only I week the wound was clean and
starting to heal from this point it was only a matter of time till the
dog made a complete recovery.
Måndag 12/11 fick vi beskedet att Decha somnat in Hello Trissan, I have very sad news, we
lost her since yesterday evening, the beatings she got was
so terrible that she died from the internal bleedings, we did really
all we could but we had to give up, the veterinary did really very
hard his best and we have to pay 400 € for the costs we made, we are
very sad here, becuae DECHA was a very kind personality, .....and
thos basterd who did this to this poor animal is not a human but a
monster,.... Fabienne
Brevet från Spanien som kom 5/11 " Dear Trissan, This podenco was been dumped
on us, the poor girl needs to be taken out the eye, someone hit her so
badly that she lost her eye. She is been treated for the infection and
for the pain, but this week she needs to be operated and the eye needs
to be taken out.... We are very sad about cruelty
of the people, .... I get very upset and tired,
We have many operations and all the ill dogs from Malaga come to me, I
do it with love for the animals but it is not easy to pay all. Perhaps you can also ask
people in Sweden to help us with donations for this poorly animal. Regards Fabienne"
